World-Class Tracks. Real-World Skills.
Bay Area Drifting School trains exclusively at professionally sanctioned race tracks—never street locations, industrial areas, or improvised lots. This ensures maximum safety, consistent conditions, and real motorsports credibility.
Our primary training facility is Thunderhill Raceway Park, one of the most respected road courses on the West Coast.
Why Thunderhill?
-
Wide run-off areas designed for driver training
-
Multiple configurations ideal for drift progression

Professional track safety crews on site

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need my own car?
Yes. Students are required to bring their own rear-wheel-drive vehicle. This ensures consistency, safety, and proper progression with a car you know—or plan to continue driving.
(Exact vehicle requirements are listed on our Requirements page.)
Is it safe?
Yes—when done correctly and on a closed course.
All training takes place on a professional racetrack with strict safety rules, instructor oversight, and controlled run groups. Drifting is taught as car control, not reckless driving.
Safety is our first priority.
What skill level is required?
All levels are welcome.
-
Never drifted before? We start from fundamentals.
-
Some experience? We refine technique and consistency.
-
Advanced drivers? We focus on precision, speed, and control.
Classes are structured so drivers are grouped appropriately and progress at a safe pace.
